It would take a lot of setup to replicate this in a studio. Awesome eye!

you should never leave a coat hanging over the cage of a goat----
All about rhomboids and triangles.
Actually, it is a sheep, looks to be a dorset or a cross. But, who's really checking.
That goat sure baaaares a striking resemblance to a sheep..
it took me way to long to figure out what was going on in this photo! i've been to a number of fairs, being a city folk i just dont get what's so special about them
Efficacious Elements come together nicely here. This ones a keeper. Ribbit.
The new Iron Curtain!
Stryder - perhaps more of a steel curtain...
I may not recognize a goat from a sheep, but I do know the difference between a buck and a doe.. True Story At my Alma Mater (War Eagle!) there was a spring event organized by one of the Ag fraternities. They had contests where all the sororities participated. One was the goat milking contest. All the southern belles were given dixie cups and turned loose in a paddock filled with goats. The goal was to fill the cup. I was with my boyfriend and not participating. He started laughing and I saw the other frat boys laughing so hard that they were falling off the fence. On closer inspection of the goats, I saw that half of them were males. The girls mistook the huge goat scrotums for udders and were madly trying to fill their dixie cups. True story.
The people look like the ones in the pen. Is this where the farm animals go to see the farm people?
It's like Cirque de Soleil on acid.
Bubba looked longingly at the goat. "Soon, soon my buttercup, we will be together."

BerryB - OUCH!!
MM - no, that was the Steelers ;o)
Yep, sounds like a normal day in Auburn. LOL... just kidding Berry! ROLL TIDE!!
BerryBeth...Lends new meaning to the dairy term "Half and Half" doesn't it?
Margaret - is that opinion from first hand experience? - Could also be a peyote thing!!
Yep, it's a sheep!
BerryBeth/BamaNurse - all right, you Alabamians play nicely now, ya hear...
Margaret-Good one. I think I read about this in a Carlos Castenada book. The fellow in the back is Don Juan and the little girl is his sidekick Don Genero. They've just turned Carlos into a Sheep, but he thinks he's a goat. That'll teach him to watch what root vegetables he eats.
Bama - I knew I'd get a response like that from you. LOL
it is a sheep, they need to take a trip down to the farm. :)
Honest officer, I was just helping this sheep over the fence!
PETA's new ad campaign, showing humans what it's like in cramped cages. Sheep/Goat: "Sucks doesn't it"?
Mt-----you have kin folk from Tn---
I swear I don't know what some of us Alabamians would do with out the Alabama/Auburn on going drama. Especially my husband and uncle....EVERY DAY there is football talk in my house. Gets kinda annoying. I have to tune them out.
Italianwoman, 1/2 ..... I've seen the various Cirques, but have never done acid.
This looks a little silence of the lamb to me. Very artistic and symbolic.
Ok well first off that is a SHEEP not a GOAT!!! LOL!!!!
Jessica Rinaldi/Reuters...its not a goat its a lamb.
Ummm that is NOT a goat, but a lamb in the picture. I would expect MSNBC to get facts correct.
From photographers and a country girls stand point, this picture is very unique. The light is shining just right on the tall man, the little girl and the sheep(yes it's a sheep people). I used to raise market lambs when I was in 4H. It a very intimate picture, seeing a lil girl who was admiring the sheep, while the male stands back, just a few steps a way watching on, kind of like a father figure.

you are all losers
dfghszfghgh - I know you are, now what am I? Hugo - too funny dude I'm surprised there were no comments about velcro mitts.
OMG, Stryder... you sound just like my kids... that is so funny! "I know you are, but what am I?!!" hahahahahaha....... Thanks for the memories; they're all grown up now!
You're all just baaa-aaad.
Sheep - goat, goat - sheep... Reminds me of the argument in Fiddler on the Roof... It was a horse! It was a mule! Horse! Mule! Horse! Mule! (heehee)
I am the sixth generation on my family's 600 acre crop farm (corn, soybeans and wheat). We also raise approximately 75 head of beef cattle. I'm disappointed at how poor the media is depicting animal life through this photograph. If only everyone could be educated on the facts of farm life and what is really happening in the picture. The photo is actually of a SHEEP and it's being exhibited at a national livestock show. The point of exhibiting livestock at 'fairs' is for a judge to select the best animal at the show for that particular breed and specie. The animal can either be a breeding or market animal. Breeding livestock is used to go back to the farm and reproduce high quality livestock that the producer can eventually be proud to harvest and sell to the consumer. As a caring producer I strive to take care of my livestock; making sure they have enough bedding, space, clean fresh water and are fed high quality feed twice to three times a day. So, please before you start supporting causes against agriculture and our lifestyle please take the time to do your research, and recieve it from those who know best... a farmer. Without us... where would America be?
Photojournalism, NOT.
