I love, love, love this photo! I so want to be there... Perfect day for the Sostice~
I'm glad we are giving coverage to more than just the "one god" religions. Thank you.
ROTFLMAO, Dont' tuch that dial, you are no longer in control, welcome to the Potter zone.
This picture makes me smile, I remember going there and loving every minute I spent there...BEAUTIFUL!
I want to go there and do that once in my life. I don't think my outfit will be that colorful though. I love the picture though.
Love the picture! Get in touch with your inner geek! Peace, Rick
Finally!!! This origination of Christmas is depicted!! Thru this pagan holiday came the birth of what people actually believe is the birth of Christ. Go figure.
I sooooooooo want to go there... Man that would be cool.
Wishing I could be there!!
What a great picture. How ever Christmas originated Danielle, go with it, it's for kids anyway, not cynical, angry adults.... Sue
There is no such religion as paganism. There were polytheistic nature religions, such as those followed by the builders of Stonehenge. There are many documented polytheistic and monotheistic religions throughout time. Then there is the catch all, lets take what we like about every religion there ever was from Egyption, to Buddism, to American Indian (several different varieties) and about a dozen more, mix it all up, ignore the parts we do not like, and call it Pagan. I followed that 'religion' for a year, and found it to be inconsistant, contradictory, and based on a lack of beliefs rather than acual diety(ies), which really is the point of religion. The moral compass pointed to "do what feels good". The man's outfit is a perfect example of this-his outfit is more a combination of Harry Potter and Gandolf- neither of which is remotely based on a belief system. I have no issue with celebrating the Solstice, but let's not pretend that paganism is an actual religion.
Love the picture! I'm glad to see my brother and sister pagans celebrating a peaceful Yule. It makes no difference what you call it all should celebrate. Blessed Be YellowButterfly
When I went to Stonehenge, it was the most magical, mysterious place I've ever had the pleasure of visiting. This photo clearly captures the haunting essence of this strange monument.
"Staff of Curing +3... Check Robe of Sneaking +2...Check Wizard Hat of Enlightenment +4...Check Now, I have got to roll a 15 or better to not look like a fool."
Awww... I didn't know Harry Potter geeks came out of the house, other thant to buy the newest book.
Yes, great point Danielle. I can definitely see how a guy in a Harry Potter costume near Stonehenge, located somewhere in England corrosponds to Natalis Solis Invicti, the Roman Sun Festival celebrated on the 25th of December. Very enlightening... I feel like I've been deceiving myself for so many years... BTW... Genius Paul.
Hi John, In my experience it happens with a really wide angle, and if ou want the effect, a lens hood helps.
Thank you paul for making D&Ders every where have a good laugh the harry potter jokes were expected but I rolled when I got to yours. good for you for not being a sheep.
Walpurgis Nocht-2007 Disney rated. I hope the idiots particiating in this moronic act of paganism know that human sacrifices and demonic orgies were part of the ritual on Mt. Walpurgis in Germanica circa 12th century.
Shhhhh we mustn't let the Southern Babtist hear that their ancestors were pagans. They will freak out and preach hell and brimstone non stop for a month.
I wonder what type of store you go to get a hat or a staff like that. Do you think they have a large selection? A search on ebay would be for???? I kind of like the staff. Wonder what they go for. This one looks real fancy.
I'm a sheep. "And here we see young Larry Potter, gay second cousin of the famous wizard, as he attends a book-signing appearance at a really old Border's Bookstore. Larry is known world-wide by his birthmark, a rainbow, on his forehead.
Anyone else hear the theme from fantasia?
hang on tight while I clap my heels twice, Toto
I still have a long way to go! Maybe I'll find some amswers here!
