Food fight! 'Tomato War' breaks out in Chile

I understand that human beings love to celebrate all sorts of occasions, but try and imagine how a picture like this must astound and horrify someone living in Bangladesh or any other country where people are literally starving to death . . . In this day and age by all means celebrate your special occasions all you like, just leave the destruction of edible food out of it . . . thirty tons of tomatoes could have been used to feed a whole lot of hungry people.
