I don't know why, but there is something about the idea of a huge hot tub that creeps me out.

People enjoy the steaming water of the Szechenyi Bath during the "Night of the Baths," a joint event of five of the Hungarian capital's historical spas in Budapest, Hungary, early morning Saturday, Feb. 19.

Katie Cannon: You must not know much about the world outside the rut you're in. You're hung up on the word "baths" which you then change to "hot tub" in your comment. At the Hot Springs Mineral Pool in Glenwood Springs, CO where I've been many times, along with 10's of thousands of others, there is the large pool where the water is about 80-82 degrees F. In the adjacent, smaller pool (hot tub as you would call it) the water is about 115 degrees F. or so. People wanting to soak in the hot pool sit on the sides and mingle, and no one is creeped out. There are hundreds of hot mineral spas/pools around the world where people of all ages and genders soak for relaxation and therapy. You might get out and experience a few.
Steved: I've been to Glenwood also. Still don't like hot pools or baths. Doesn't mean someone is in a rut. Stop jumping to conclusions. I prefer my hot tubs or hot pools by myself to relax not with a bunch of hairy men with skin cells flaking off!
Hi there steved-3024871, I was a little flip when I called the baths a hot tub, and I should have expanded on what creeps me out. I have actually enjoyed the well-known hot mud baths and hot springs in the Rotorua area of New Zealand. However, when I stop and think about skin cells that slough off and bacteria in a warm environment, I get a little grossed out even though people have clearly enjoyed public baths for ages, mostly without incident. All of that being said, I'm sure I will try them again when I am on another adventure, because a soak does feel good. Enjoy the springs in Colorado and thank you for taking the time to comment.
Oh, I agree. All those people in a hot bath, yuk. It's like a human soup! Not for me!
Well, it is a Tub of Hot Water, and therefore a Hot Tub, and a Huge one at that, so it is a Huge Hot Tub. Also, it could be odd to someone not familiar with such things. I had a French Girl Friend, who during her stay in SB went to the beach, took off her top, and casually laid back on her towel. It didn't take but a few minutes before a couple of ladies came over and chewed her out. My friend was perplexed, as everyone in France goes 'Topless" at The Beach. So, to each there own. Ribbit.
